Dr. Chrissy Hammer was born and raised in the Chicago area. She received her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Loyola University Chicago before completing her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona in 2013. Dr. Hammer completed her post-graduate specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and was honored to act as Chief Resident. As a proud Navy wife, she has traveled around the country for almost a decade with her husband and is excited to call San Diego home.
Dr. Hammer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a peer-nominated honorary organization and a designation earned by only 3.5% of dentists. She was named the 2016 New Dentist of the Year by the Maryland State Dental Association, and volunteers her time with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation.
Dr. Hammer practices comprehensive Pediatric Dentistry with a minimally invasive mindset. She enjoys treating infants, children and those with complex medical and behavioral challenges. Her goal is to help every child leave his or her visit feeling comfortable, confident, and excited to visit the dentist. Dr. Hammer is known for her compassionate, calming bedside manner and for being relatable to both children and parents.
Dr. Hammer and her husband have two young daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her girls, running, cycling and Chicago Cubs Baseball.
